Instructional Technology Coach — Job Description
Position Title: Instructional Technology Coach (ITC)
Reports To: Associate Director of Technology and Innovation and Campus Principal(s)
Position Summary
The Instructional Technology Coach empowers educators to effectively integrate digital tools and strategies into teaching and learning in line with the school’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. The coach collaborates with teachers, administrators, and technology staff to design, model, and support the use of technology that enhances student engagement, equity, creativity, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Learning & Coaching
- Designs and facilitates workshops, training sessions, and professional development on instructional technology best practices.
- Provides just-in-time, job-embedded coaching to teachers, co-teaching lessons and modeling technology integration strategies.
- Supports faculty in developing digital fluency, leveraging LMS platforms, and using productivity and collaboration tools.
Curriculum & Instructional Support
- Partners with teachers to align technology tools with learning standards and instructional goals.
- Guides teachers in designing technology-enhanced lessons that promote active learning, differentiation, and assessment for learning.
- In collaboration with Vice Principals of Learning, recommends emerging apps, platforms, and tools that align with pedagogical needs and school policies.
- In collaboration with Campus admin and teacher librarians, supports the cultivation of digital discipleship – inclusive of themes related to literacy, citizenship and digital wellness.
Innovation & Piloting
- Collaborates with staff to pilot new instructional technologies, gather feedback, and evaluate impact on student outcomes in support of the school’s continuous improvement plan.
- Stays current with trends in educational technology and shares best practices across the school or district.
Collaboration & Communication
- Serves as a bridge between Teaching & Learning and the Technology Support Department, ensuring platform adoption and teacher needs are aligned with infrastructure.
- Participates in committees and councils related to digital learning, curriculum integration, and technology governance.
- Supports communication of updates and resources through newsletters, guides, and coaching cycles.
Support & Troubleshooting
- Provides Tier 0/1 support for classroom technology use (e.g., LMS, instructional apps, interactive displays).
- Refers technical issues beyond instructional use to IT Support staff.
